On the afternoon of April 10, 2018, Shanghai University of Finance and Economics (SUFE) held the inauguration ceremony for the Mingde Building and the opening ceremony for the first Mingde Youth Leadership Training Camp in the conference room on the first floor of the Mingde Building at the Wudong Campus. Attendees included SUFE Board Member and Founder of Shanghai DaoDe Investment Management Partnership Wu Fei, SUFE Alumnus and Managing Director of Shanghai DaoDe Investment Management Partnership Zhang Liang, Founder of Leadership Grammar and Independent Consultant Li Feng, SUFE Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee Zhu Mingxiong, as well as leaders from relevant colleges, functional departments, and representatives of training camp participants.

The ceremony was presided over by Chen Hongmei, Director of SUFE's Cooperative Development Office. She began by thanking Wu Fei for his support for the school's educational development and introduced the purpose of establishing the "SUFE Mingde Education Fund." She hoped that the training camp participants would follow his example, actively practice the school motto of "Integrity and Erudition, Economics for the Times," bring honor to their alma mater, and contribute to the great cause of socialism with Chinese characteristics.

Deputy Secretary Zhu Mingxiong, representing the school, expressed gratitude to Wu Fei and other guests for their support for the school's educational development. He pointed out that the inauguration of the Mingde Building and the opening of the Mingde Youth Leadership Training Camp were excellent examples of "situational ideological and political education." They not only demonstrated SUFE's century-long cultural heritage but also embodied the alumni's spirit of gratitude. He hoped that the participants would actively comprehend and practice these values during their learning process, achieving "self-cultivation through investigation, sincerity and righteousness, morality and manners, diligence in study, and leading by example." He encouraged them to internalize their leadership learning and demonstrate it through actions, serving as exemplary student leaders and influencing more people in their future studies, life, and career development.

Subsequently, Deputy Secretary Zhu Mingxiong and Board Member Wu Fei jointly unveiled the plaque for the Mingde Building.

At the ceremony, Li Tianhang, a 2016 international economics and trade major from SUFE's Business School and a representative of the first Mingde Youth Leadership Training Camp participants, delivered a speech. She sincerely thanked Wu Fei for his care and support for students and emphasized that "the way of learning in university lies in cultivating one's virtue." As young students, participants will enrich their professional knowledge, enhance their business skills, and improve their qualities and self-cultivation. As student leaders and team leaders, they will also continuously strengthen their collaboration and communication skills, carrying forward Wu Fei's expectations and hopes, broadening their horizons, and gaining new insights in the training camp.

Finally, Board Member Wu Fei gave a speech. He encouraged the selected student leaders to maintain a positive and enterprising spirit throughout their four-year campus life, learn knowledge, skills, and work methods, and apply their leadership in their respective enterprises, teams, and key positions after entering the workforce. He stressed the importance of adhering to the moral bottom line, harboring lofty ideals, continuously striving for growth, excelling in the economic field, and striving to become pillars of the country.

Also present at the ceremony were Liu Liya, Secretary of the Party Committee of SUFE's School of Finance, Shen Yijun, Secretary of the Youth League Committee, Ma Ji, Deputy Director of the School Board Office, and Zhu Feng, Deputy Secretary of the Youth League Committee.
