On December 16th, the establishment ceremony of the Mingde M&A and Restructuring Research Center at Shanghai University of Finance and Economics, funded by School Director and Alumni Wu Fei, was held in the lecture hall on the first floor of Tongde Building, School of Finance.

Attendees included School Director and Alumni Wu Fei, Chairman of Shanghai Daode Investment Management Partnership (Limited Partnership), and Alumni Zhang Liang, Managing Director of the same firm; Professor Wang Neng, Dean of the School of Finance, Professor Liu Liya, Party Secretary, Professor Liu Yongming, Executive Deputy Dean, Professor Chen Xuanjuan and Professor Li Yao, Deputy Deans; as well as Professor Zhu Kai, Deputy Dean of the School of Accounting, Professor Sun Yan, Deputy Dean of the School of Economics, Associate Professor Hu Ling, Deputy Dean of the School of Law, Associate Professor Deng Xin, Director of the Corporate Finance Department, and Assistant Professor Shen Beibei. The ceremony was presided over by Professor Li Yao.

Dean Wang Neng expressed gratitude to Wu Fei for his support in research and discipline development, encouraging students to broaden their horizons, set high goals, and strive with perseverance and accurate judgment. Wu Fei shared his vision for establishing the center, emphasizing the importance of foresight and commitment in the ever-changing financial landscape.

The Mingde Education Fund, donated by Wu Fei for the centenary celebration of the university, will be used for:

 1) Establishing the Mingde M&A and Restructuring Research Center to provide forward-looking guidance on M&A data, cases, and methodologies; 

2) Supporting the "Mingde Future Leaders Training Program" to nurture student leadership and contribute to society; 

3) Naming relevant buildings on campus. Party Secretary Liu Liya praised Wu Fei as a distinguished alumni with a broad vision and deep patriotism, highlighting his contributions to the university through various activities and financial support.

In the experience-sharing session, guests from the Schools of Accounting, Economics, and Law discussed their research and center-founding experiences. Professor Zhu Kai emphasized focus, intellectual integration, and the combination of disciplines and industry-academia collaboration. Professor Sun Yan introduced the School of Economics' efforts in research, faculty recruitment, and scientific research management. Associate Professor Hu Ling discussed the significance and functions of research centers in responding to societal needs, integrating teaching and practice, and fostering research teams.

Dean Wang Neng and Wu Fei then unveiled the plaque for the Mingde M&A and Restructuring Research Center. In the final academic lecture, Dean Wang Neng presented on "Private Equity Valuation," while Wu Fei shared investment stories and career advice, emphasizing the importance of foresight, diligence, and problem-solving skills.
